Job Summary:
MDAEdge is a company seeking a Mainframe DB2 Administrator with extensive experience in z/OS System Administration and Mainframe technologies. The role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining IBM z/OS operating systems while leading a team of Mainframe professionals and driving best practices in system administration and performance management.
Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain IBM z/OS operating system and associated system software such as SMP/E, JES2, RACF, and SMF.
• Strong understanding of Production Control and Scheduling with experience in IWS (TWS) & JOBTRAC tools.
• Deep knowledge of IBM Z architecture, workload management (WLM), performance tuning, and system-level debugging.
• Expertise in z/OS version upgrades and z/OS MF.
• Experience with VTS and hardware upgrades.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Mainframe professionals, including system programmers and administrators.
• Provide expert-level technical guidance on z/OS systems, Mainframe storage, networking, security, and automation.
• Drive best practices in Mainframe System administration, software upgrades, capacity planning, and disaster recovery.
• Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex system issues and outages.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 7+ years of experience in Mainframe DB2 Administration.
• Extensive experience as a z/OS System Architect with IODF/IOCP expertise.
• Experience with IWS (TWS) & JOBTRAC tools.
• Expertise in z/OS version upgrades.
• Experience with VTS and hardware upgrades.
• Experience in migration projects from CA-OPS/MVS to IBM System Automation.
Preferred:
• Knowledge of Mainframe System Automation tools such as IBM SA z/OS and CA OPS/MVS.
• Expertise in Mainframe Network Administration.
• Strong understanding of Storage, RACF, CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ, and WAS technologies.
• Proficiency in REXX, CLIST, and Netview PIPE programming.
• Ability to prepare and maintain documentation on system configurations, procedures, and best practices.
• Knowledge of REXX programming skills.
