Job description

Summary

This is a clerical position in for the County Treasurer. The position assists the public in matters related to personal property tax payments and is responsible for collection of payments and distribution of vehicle registration plates. This position has no direct reports and is under the supervision of the County Treasurer, Deputy County Treasurer, Customer Service Lead or Customer Service Specialist in the absence of the Treasurer, Deputy, and Lead and/or his/her designee.

Performs clerical and support duties; specific duties may vary by department

  • Collects taxes, current and delinquent.
  • Complete general clerical tasks of filing, answering the telephone and processing and recording mail.
  • Complete mathematical computations related to determining personal property taxes.
  • Completes research of files, records, and other documents.
  • Counts and handles money, receives money from customers, balances cash in drawers.
  • Interact with the public daily to provide information about personal property taxes, receive personal property tax payments, and assist with titling processes, duplicate title requests, issue vehicle registration plates and decals. Ensures that all aspects of title and registration processing are correct.
  • Maintains and updates filing, mailing, database systems, records, either manually or using a computer related to update records and changes.
  • Respond to change productively
