Job description

The Mail Operations Pharmacist is responsible for the accurate and timely dispensing of prescribed medication to patients. The Mail Operations Pharmacist work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action. The nature of the work is a mix of phone and queue based tasks, but can vary based on business needs.

The Mail Operations Pharmacist ensures adherence to quality assurance standards, accurate tracking techniques and a review process prior to shipping medications to patients. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy

  • Licensed as a PHARMACIST in Arizona, Florida, Ohio or Texas

  • Candidate must reside and plan to work within the state of Arizona, Florida, Ohio or Texas

  • Ability to participate in Federal prescription programs

  • Self-directed, but also able to work well in a group

  • Ability to solve problems and encourage others in collaborative problem solving

  • Work ethic that is focused, accurate, and highly productive

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Proficient with computers

  • Must have ability to provide hard wire internet connection and a private workspace

Preferred Qualifications

  • PharmD

  • 3 or more years-experience in a high-volume retail, community or mail order pharmacy practice environment

  • Proficient in Spanish

Additional Information

Workstyle: Remote Work at Home

Location: Florida, Arizona, Texas, Ohio

Schedule: The schedule will be set between 8am-8pm EST Monday-Friday and 8am-4:30pm EST Saturday.

  • Annual shift bids are conducted, and schedule changes may occur dependent upon business need.

  • Mandatory Overtime may be required if business need arises but will not exceed 10 hours per week.

Work-At-Home Requirements

  • WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a wired high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office.

  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.

  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

  • WAH is not a substitution for caregiver needs. Associate must be able to work continued 8 or 10 hour shift dependent on assigned schedule

Work at Home Requirements: To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$104,000 - $143,000 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
