Job description

Overview:


The Customer Communications Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining mail processing equipment to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient handling of outgoing mail. This role includes operating mail inserting and metering machines, performing routine maintenance and cleaning, and maintaining an adequate supply of postal equipment and materials. The operator prepares and organizes mail for courier pickup and ensures compliance with postal regulations and company procedures.

Additional responsibilities include quality control checks for address accuracy and proper postage, processing various mail classes including Certified, Priority, First Class, and Foreign mail, and following established procedures outlined in departmental manuals. The position also supports area and enterprise initiatives while contributing to overall operational efficiency and customer communication standards.

Work Includes:

  • Preparing documents for mailing

  • Processing and preparing outgoing mail

  • Processing and verifying accounts

  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Requires skills to perform routine tasks

  • Work is completed with little autonomy

  • Works with either close supervision or under clearly defined procedures

  • Good judgment/decision-making skills and organizational skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

The estimated base pay range for this job is:

$15.87 - $27.98
