Job Description
General Scope of Duties
In accordance with postal regulations, sell postage supplies, weigh parcels, inform customers of available services, ready packages for shipping. Provide excellent customer service including recommending most economical, safest and quickest services; educate customers on proper
packaging and special services; ensure interactions with all customers are polite and professional. Process all incoming packages and mail for distribution to students, faculty and staff.
General Duties and Responsibilities
Priority Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. In accordance with postal regulations, sell postage supplies, weigh parcels, advise customers of available services and prepare mail and packages for shipping
  2. Provide excellent customer service including recommending most economical, safest and quickest services; educate customer on proper packaging and special services; ensure interactions with all customers are polite and professional
  3. Receive and distribute parcels from commercial courier services
  4. Process undeliverable mail; forward US mail during absences from campus
  5. Handle cash, make change, and maintain staff accountability and record office charges.
  6. Oversee and assist student workers at the window as customers come to collect their mail and packages
  7. Oversee and train on-call clerks in mail processing and distribution
    General Duties and Responsibilities:
  8. Maintain adequate postage, cash and work supplies
  9. Balance cash drawer weekly and report any shortfalls or overages to Printing and Mailing Services manager immediately; record results in daily log
  10. Advise manager of any problems immediately
  11. Post accounts for services rendered
  12. Work with student employees for distribution of mail.
  13. 6Answer phone calls and emails in a courteous and professional manner
  14. Assist courier in their duties and fill in on occasion as needed to cover primary courier days off
  15. Work with and update process documentation as necessary
  16. Other duties as assigned or as necessary

Education and Skills
  1. High school diploma or equivalent with experience required, associates degree preferred
  2. Valid driver's license
  3. Strong customer service skills
  4. Knowledge of USPS mail handling regulations preferred
  5. Basic math and problem solving skills
  6. Comfortable using computers, systems, printers, etc.
  7. Ability to interact well with a variety of people from all aspects of the college and community
  8. Ability to lift 50 pounds
  9. Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  10. Attention to detail
  11. Well-organized, able to work under pressure, prioritize, plan and accomplish goals
  12. Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  13. Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  14. No travel required
