Job description

Responsibilities:
  • Work from shop prints, work orders, prescribed production procedures to receive stock material, requisition tooling and program to prepare machine for operation.
  • Check all fluid levels, grease fittings and transmission.
  • Load programs, insert tooling for touch-off of tooling, reference points for dry run of first piece.
  • Produce first piece with approval or assistance of more experienced personnel for measurement of critical dimensions.
  • Check production pieces following quality procedures.

Desired Requirements
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
  • Must be able to communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job
  • Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra for the purpose of calculating material fabrication
  • Must have experience operating CNC Lathes and / or 5 axis CNC Mills

Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year experience operating CNC Lathes and milling machines in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of Intermediate working knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments, micrometers and calipers.

Instruments should include but not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages indicators and scales
  • Intermediate knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with understanding of geometric tolerances and dimension
  • Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used on various machines
