Position Overview

The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating equipment needed to fold, match and insert multiple pieces of printed material into an envelope while maintaining high quality work in a high volume fast-paced environment. This associate will also be responsible for operating inserters that match and insert id cards to letters.

The Machine Operator positions are located in Fenton, MO.

Available Openings:

2nd Shift - 2 pm - 10 pm

3rd Shift - 10 pm - 6 am

What you'll do:

  • Set up inserting equipment at the beginning of each job according to specifications provided on the job ticket

  • Safely and efficiently operate the equipment

  • Recognizes when the output is not meeting job specification quality at the source

  • Troubleshoots equipment problems and makes necessary adjustments

  • Communicates well with management and co-workers

  • Completes all paperwork accurately and in a timely manner

  • Accurately sorts all cards and mail to ensure proper order

  • Notifies Production Supervisor of any quality issues, spoilage or reprints that are required

  • Follows all standard operating procedures and instructions relevant to the job, position and department accurately

  • Ability to maintain published equipment

  • Ability and willingness to cross-train on various inserting equipment

  • Follows established HIPAA, Compliance & Security policies & department policies, procedures, work instructions and safety and environmental guidelines

  • Other duties as assigned

What you'll bring to Zelis:

  • High School diploma or equivalent GED required (or equivalent experience)

  • 2-3 years' experience in production print environment preferred but not required

  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

  • Must have basic computer skills (data entry, etc.).

  • Strong mechanical aptitude preferred

Physical Factors & Requirements:

  • Frequent bending and stooping

  • Stand for long periods of time

  • Able to lift up to 50lbs

  • Reliable transportation to and from work

  • Use standard office equipment

  • Must be able to maintain good attendance

  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed, significant overtime is required during busy periods
