Job Summary
Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Furniture Handler in Washington, DC. This position is covered by the CBA for Local 99.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist Receiving Unit Supervisor with organizing daily tasks to include, receiving deliveries and distribute materials and office supplies
  • Assist with moving furniture and other handling of materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
    Assist with IT deliveries and with bar coding the new IT property
    Support set up of new GAO employee workstations and internal moves
    Perform daily set up of conference rooms.
    Perform Quality Control checks on service requests pertaining to the Receiving Unit to make sure of accuracy.
    Assist GAO Mail Room with receiving FedEx and UPS Deliveries via security scanning equipment in the Mail Room.
    Log the packages into the GAO RUIS system, print signature sheets and assign RU staff member to deliver packages.
    File paperwork according to GAO policy.
    Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Must have at least one year experience safely utilizing handheld pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, and furniture moving equipment.
  • Operators of the pallet jacks shall require certification.
