Mail Technician

Xpressdocs is looking for a Mail Technician to join our Distribution team. This position requires someone that pays attention to detail. The candidate must be able to work quickly and proficiently in a fast-paced digital print environment and perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, legs, and moving your whole body such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, standing for long periods of time, shrink wrapping, and handling of bins. Mail Technicians are responsible for keeping the mail room clean and well-organized to support an efficient environment that handles thousands of mail pieces each day. The position may require computer proficiency to support the use of computer systems to set up functions, enter data, and/or process information.

In this position, you will:

  • Ensures that mail is reviewed for proper date, postage, and good quality barcodes prior to being placed in the appropriate mail trays.
  • Communicates errors found in the mail to operator or supervisor to prevent re-work of mail.
  • Demonstrates safety and security precautions and follows company policies.
  • Should have some working knowledge of postal requirements.
  • Must sort and tray mail.
  • Must be willing to work within all the mailing areas as assigned.
  • Will be responsible for replenishment of supplies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Willingness to cross train to other equipment.

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  • 2-5 years’ experience working in mail.
  • The availability to work a flexible work scheduled based on business needs and occasional overtime.
  • Knowledge of USPS rules and regulations.
  • The ability to understand and follow verbal direction in English and read written instructions.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • A high school degree.
  • The ability to lift up to 50lbs on a regular and repetitive basis.
  • The ability to stand and walk up to 80% of the time.
  • The ability to move throughout all departments within the company.
  • The ability to be around loud machinery for up to 12 hours/day.
  • The ability to be confined in a small area.
  • The ability to operate all types of finishing equipment, phones, and computers.
