This position receives, sorts, processes, distributes, and tracks incoming and outgoing mail, packages, freight shipments, and special deliveries for the University campus. The position works closely with the Warehouse Coordinator to ensure timely and accurate delivery of mail, Amazon orders, UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL, freight shipments, and other campus deliveries. The role requires strong customer service, attention to detail, accurate recordkeeping, and safe operation of mailroom, receiving, and warehouse equipment. Duties and Responsibilities Receive, sort, process, and distribute incoming and outgoing U.S. Mail and interoffice mail.Receive, inspect, log, track, and distribute packages and freight shipments delivered by Amazon, UPS, FedEx, DHL, USPS, and other carriers.Verify shipments against packing slips, purchase orders, delivery records, and other supporting documentation.Identify and report discrepancies, shortages, damaged goods, or delivery issues in a timely manner.Coordinate campus mail and package delivery services for university departments, faculty, staff, and students.Notify recipients of package arrivals and support timely delivery or pickup of mail and packages.Operate postage meters, package-tracking systems, computers, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other mailroom or receiving equipment safely and efficiently.Maintain accurate records of mail distribution, package deliveries, shipping transactions, postage expenditures, and receiving activities.Assist the Warehouse Coordinator with receiving operations, inventory-related activities, surplus property handling, and general warehouse support.Provide professional, courteous, and responsive customer service to campus departments, students, vendors, and shipping carriers.Respond to inquiries regarding mail, packages, shipment status, delivery schedules, and related services.Operate a university vehicle, as required, to transport mail, packages, and deliveries between campus locations and local postal or shipping facilities.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized mailroom, receiving area, and related workspaces.Follow University policies, USPS regulations, carrier requirements, and applicable safety standards.Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED.Valid Georgia driver's license with an acceptable driving record.Knowledge of mail distribution, shipping, receiving, or package-handling procedures.Ability to use computers, Microsoft Office applications, email, and package-tracking systems.Strong organizational, time-management, and recordkeeping skills.Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced service environment.  Working conditions Work is performed in a mailroom, warehouse, receiving dock, office, and campus environment. The position requires regular interaction with campus departments, faculty, staff, students, vendors, and shipping carriers. The employee may have moderate exposure to dust, packaging materials, loading docks, warehouse equipment, and changing weather conditions when receiving deliveries or making campus deliveries. The position may require operating a university vehicle for mail and package delivery. Physical requirementsFrequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift while performing mailroom, delivery, and receiving duties.Lift, carry, and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds.Occasionally move materials weighing more than 50 pounds using appropriate equipment or with assistance.Push, pull, or maneuver carts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other mailroom or warehouse equipment.Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions when receiving deliveries or making campus deliveries.The above list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the incumbent will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the position.
