Job description

Onsite DOT Delivery Driver POSITION PROFILE

Responsible for quality delivery, pick-up and relocation of customer packages and mail in a safe manner and according to Customer requirements. Position requires federal DOT compliance. Meet all Delivery Safety Standards.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

?· Ensures proper receiving, sorting, and PO processing.

?· Ensures packages and mail are properly loaded and secured in the boxed van/truck.

?· Ensures proper pick up of mail and packages from customer pick up stops/areas.

?· Ensures that mail and packages are delivered to the correct delivery points.

?· Maintains log books in accordance with DOT regulations (Electronic or manual)

?· Responsible for pre and post trip reviews and ensures that his/her vehicle van/truck is safe and clean to operate and is compliant with all DOT and state laws

?· Participation in Safety Programs.

?· Pre-calling customers when applicable.

?· Strong customer service skills

?· Identifies customer's needs and determines appropriate action; refers calls to appropriate party.

?· Maintain professional dress appearance as per site dress code.

?· Ensures all paperwork is signed and properly processed.

?· Loading/Off-loading trucks may apply.

?· Follows all accident/incident reporting guidelines and procedures

?· Meets appropriate productivity/quality standards relative to assigned job responsibility as outlined by manager.

?· Operation and use of warehouse equipment, i.e., forklift, stair climber, pallet jack, is required.

?· Meets appropriate productivity/quality standards relative to assigned job responsibility as outlined by manager.

?· Position requires the operator to lift up to 50 pounds.

?· Assists with proper back up training for new delivery drivers on current routes.

?· Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certifications)

Required:

?· Safe driving record and History

?· Eligibility to drive a commercial vehicle according to FMCSR regulations.

?· Must maintain valid driver's license in accordance with company policy.

?· Pass a road Test

?· Valid and current medical card is required

?· Be at least 20 years of age, properly licensed in his or her current state of residence.

?· High school diploma or equivalent education is required.

?· Valid commercial driver's license is required if applicable per state

?· Ability to read maps and electronic GPS

KNOWLEDGE, Skills And Abilities

?· Must be able to physically handle oversized and overweight packages.

?· Identification of at risk behaviors and have the ability to make quick corrections.

?· Strong Customer Presentation and Communication Skills.

?· Familiarity utilizing and learning smart phones and/or tablets with hand held electronic technology.

?· Must have adequate reading, math skill, and ability to write legibly.

?· May be required to be certified on operation and use of warehouse equipment, i.e., forklift, stair climber, etc.

Working Conditions, MENTAL aND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

?· Working conditions could result in serious injuries if they don't follow appropriate lifting or moving procedures and/or the rules of the road.

?· Frequent stooping, bending, squatting and kneeling are required to service equipment at floor level

?· Physical effort is required in the lifting of mail/packages weighing up to 50 pounds.

?· Work assignments are diversified. Interpret, comprehend and apply complex material, data and instruction ?· prepare, provide and convey diversified information.

?· Typically, a variety of conditions, including office, warehouse and van/truck environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
