Title: Temporary Mail Associate Duration: 3 months, Potential to convert to permanent Rate of Pay: $27.94 per hour FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Company: Joint Industry Board of the Electrical Industry Location: Flushing, NY 11365 Department: Mailroom Dept Vacancy: 1 JOB DESCRIPTION: The Joint Industry Board of the Electrical Industry is seeking a Mail Associate to join our team. Reporting to the Supervisor, under close supervision, the Mail Associate will be responsible for various duties but not limited to: Promptly deliver and picks up documents, mail, messages, supply, heavy boxes and packages and other items as directed to and/or from business location.Carry and transport heavy boxes weighing more than 50lbs to various locations.Examines outgoing mail carefully for appearance and seals envelopes.Ensure outgoing mail is stamped as required based on post office requirement.Sort mail according to destination and recipient information.Timely distribute and collect mail in the building.Folds letters or circulars and inserts in envelopes by hand or with a machine.Determine appropriate postage based on weight.Operate various equipment including copy machine and timely complete job orders.Ensures the proper delivery of printed materials.Adhere to internal control policies and procedures.May operate machines folding, mail, copier, microfilm, etc.Take stock inventory and keep records on postage.Transport and deposit funds at the bank on a weekly basis.Drive to the U.S. Post Office daily to collect incoming mail.Obtain approval supply order and process order timely and accurately.Sets classrooms for OSHA class.Print and bind books, pamphlets, brochure, literature etc. for all classes.Prepare mail for departments for scanning and processing job orders.Perform special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.Deliver faxes for various departments.Take stock inventory for all supplies, envelopes, and forms.May utilize various equipment/machine, engraving equipment, microfilm/fiche, and copier to fill requests in the copy area.Perform other duties and special assignments as necessary Work Environment We thrive to provide a supportive and collaborative environment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a Temporary onsite 35 hours per week Non-Exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:30AM-4:30PM. Flexibility: Must be able to work overtime when necessary. Travel: Limited travel is required.
