Job Title: Case Assistant
Duration: 6+ Months
Location: Lowell, MA - 01851
Schedule: 6 hours per day, 3 days per week
 
 
Job Summary :
The Case Assistant will assist a visually impaired Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with administrative tasks.
Under the direction of the Counselor, Case Assistant will help the Counselor by reading documents (out loud), filling out forms, scanning documents, filing documents and locating items as requested. Because the Case Assistant will have daily responsibilities supporting the Counselor, it is important that the Case Assistant is reliable and performs tasks as requested.
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Reading printed PDF files and handwritten documents - such as medical records, psych-educational reports, letters, articles, web sites – out loud.
  • Scanning documents such as medical records, psych-educational reports, and letters to the computer.
  • Filling out forms (ex., referral, intake, or any other necessary forms) if required by hand.
  • Filing and organizing case folders and documents.
  • Making copies and sending facsimiles as needed.
  • Checking paper mail.
  • Assist with submitting receipts and reading receipts.
  • Reviews and verifies MRCIS documents for accuracy.
  • Locate required items within a case file and other items or reports as requested.
  • Check cases for signatures and specific documents as indicated.
  • Provide transportation as needed to meetings and training sessions.
 
Required skills & Qualifications:
  • Positive attitude and willingness to help.
  • Ability to organize tasks.
  • Ability to understand and follow spoken and written instructions.
  • Ability to read a high volume of documents, including medical reports, in a clear speaking voice.
