Job description

You will serve as a Mail Assistant in the Mail Facility of NAVSUP FLC SD GF.Qualifications:Your resume must include one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service in the public or private sector. Specialized experience must include the following: 1) Demonstrated knowledge of the United States Postal Service (USPS), Department of Defense (DoD), and Department of the Navy (DON) directives, regulations, laws and practices; 2) Perform a variety of postal duties including acceptance, screening, sorting and distributing incoming mail (USPS, FEDEX, UPS, DHL and other premium carriers), processing and checking of all accountable mail such as registered and certified; receiving, sorting, metering and bundling outgoing mail; 3) Examining all mail material for evidence of tampering, damage, compliance with packaging and labeling requirements; 4) Loading and unloading vehicles with mail in USPS containers such as plastic/cardboard trays and tubs, mail sacks, sealed boxes and parcels.
