This position is 100% onsite at our Bohemia, NY office.

Salary Range for this position is $90,000- 120,000, depending on experience.

This position requires a U.S Person or a person who can qualify for a Department of State or Department of Commerce License.

Position Summary:

The Magnetics Design Engineer is responsible for the design and development of magnetic components, including transformers, inductors, and related assemblies, for high-reliability aerospace and defense applications. This role supports new business development through direct customer engagement, technical presentations, and specification definition, while also driving cost reduction and process improvements for existing products.

Key Position Accountabilities:

  • Ensure implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Ensure that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations.
  • Commitment to the Companys policies, principles, and procedures and adheres to the Companys procedures including Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), discipline/corrective action, and security.
  • Designs, tests, and magnetic components.(transformers, inductors, cores, windings.)
  • Communicates directly with customers to develop product specifications and technical assistance.
  • Make technical presentations for customers, reps, and sales organization.
  • Effectively communicates with customers and sales personnel in accurately defining customer requirements.
  • Supports product manufacturing transition and product maintenance at offshore manufacturing locations.
  • Uses experience to troubleshoot and resolve process and test issues.
  • Manages and expedites proto-type builds.
  • Assists QA Dept. with technical support for internal and external CARs.
  • Data Analysis.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Advanced analytical, evaluative, and objective critical thinking skills.
  • Proven ability to design magnetic devices.
  • Knowledge of transformer material suppliers preferred. (cores, bobbins, laminations, cases, wire, etc.)

Qualifications:

  • 2 - 5 years relavent work experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
  • Any combination of education, training and experience listed above that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
