Your role in the mission:

Type One Energy Group is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach in the development of our stellarator fusion energy technologies. Experience across the project lifecycle including functional analysis and requirements development, system integration, verification and validation, and risk analyses is desired.

This role will support our magnet engineering team and focus on integration with Physics, Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and Project Management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate functional analysis, requirements development, interface management, and system architecture development activities.
  • Support system integration efforts across multiple engineering disciplines and external partners.
  • Ensure configuration management and change control practices are followed in all system modeling activities and generation of engineering deliverables.
  • Support engineering design reviews and change management activities, including evaluating technical risks, providing impact assessments, and identifying issues.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and ability to facilitate design activities for cross-functional teams.
What you’ll need:
  • MS or BS in Engineering or a similar field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) with design of complex systems (for mid-level position).
  • Experience with System Design methodologies and applications such as Cameo Systems Modeler for overall system design and requirements management.
  • Experience developing system architectures, requirements, interfaces, verification plans, and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with HTS and LTS magnets from a design or manufacturing background is a plus.
