Ignite a New Future for Communication in Fort Wayne - Become a Speech Therapist
Overview
Imagine a career where each day you have the chance to give voice to those who struggle to communicate. As a Speech Therapist in Fort Wayne, Indiana, your contributions will resonate deeply within the community. Your role will extend beyond the treatment of speech and swallowing disorders; you'll be a pivotal force in unlocking potential and fostering connections, whether with eager toddlers mastering their ABCs or vibrant seniors striving to regain their autonomy.
This position offers the unique advantage of working with a diverse patient demographic all under one roof, seamlessly combining outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient evaluations. Whether your expertise lies in pediatric language acquisition, neurogenic communication disorders in adults, or cognitive rehabilitation for the elderly, you will find both fulfillment and flexibility in your practice.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups through standardized evaluations and observations.
  • Create tailored treatment strategies addressing both immediate goals and longer-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions that target language, fluency, voice, and swallowing needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, family members, and caregivers to formulate integrated care plans.
  • Guide and educate patients and their families to foster ongoing progress beyond therapy sessions.
  • Participate in inpatient evaluations and interventions as necessary, ensuring comprehensive care throughout the treatment process.
  • Document patient interactions and progress with accuracy, adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Engage in ongoing education and collaboration with peers to stay updated on the latest methodologies in speech therapy.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.
Certifications
  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within the first month of employment.
Key Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based practices applicable to various age groups, including a solid understanding of developmental and acquired disorders related to speech, language, and swallowing.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, fostering connections with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to adapt therapeutic methods to meet diverse cultural and linguistic needs.
  • Sound clinical judgment and effective problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems and documentation practices.
Perks of Joining Our Team
  • Competitive compensation package reflective of experience.
  • Adjustable work schedules to promote balance between professional and personal life.
  • Specialization opportunities in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay policies.
  • Options for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Financial support for continuing education and professional growth.
  • A collaborative environment committed to providing quality care and fostering a culture of lifelong learning.

A Career That Resonates with You
Your journey here will extend beyond the delivery of speech therapy - you'll be an integral part of a community-centered mission aimed at healing voices, cultivating communication, and creating magic in the simple act of connecting with others.
In a workplace where clinicians are treated like family, collaboration is cherished over competition. Each patient's journey is unique, and we deeply trust you to help narrate their story effectively.
Experience Fort Wayne: Where Opportunity Meets Connection

Who We're Searching For
We seek a Speech Language Pathologist who is propelled by both the measurable outcomes of their work and profound empathy. Someone who can envision the future for a child struggling to communicate, who perceives the unsteady words of a recovery patient as a testament to their resilience.
You may be a pediatric aficionado expanding into adult services or a neuro-focused clinician eager to bring early intervention techniques to your repertoire.
Wherever your passion lies, if you are enthusiastic about making a meaningful impact through your expertise and compassion, we are eager to embrace you into our family.
Let's Craft Sound Futures Together
If your belief is that speech encapsulates more than just articulation and that therapy transcends tasks - if earning trust comes before achieving goals and joy is as essential as language - then this position may be the perfect next step in your professional journey.
