Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Applications Technician reports to Technical Director and works with the Production team in providing accurate and timely solutions and repairs. The optimum person takes ownership, managing process from conception to end result, is organized, self-motivated and has great problem-solving skills. A comprehensive understanding of downstream processes and methods is essential for growth as an applications technician. This position requires attention to detail, ability to stay on task, time management/prioritization and a resilient attitude. Valid driver’s license required. Hours may include some weekends and evenings. Must have passport and be willing to travel to the other Facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Operate all equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Help confirm Production is following Standard Operating Procedures and Operators are trained.
  • Maintain and control quality by checking print output.
  • Test and vet new skus and implement settings into workflow software.
  • Spot check production and follow wash testing protocols for durability.
  • Manage Production RIP’s and settings used by the RIP’s.
  • Help facilitate Special Projects and Samples to land new customers, licenses, or orders.
  • Help Troubleshoot problem some prints and bad print files.
  • Research and develop ways to improve existing Equipment.

GENERAL:

  • Confident in using a Spectrophotometer.
  • Comprehending OSHA requirements.
  • Comprehending MSDS’/SDS’.
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve quickly to mitigate issues.
  • Assist Technical Director with additional duties.
  • Participate in brainstorming meetings.
  • Contribute suggestions and ideas for department needs.
  • Complete all tasks to guarantee that company goals and customer objectives are met.
  • Maintain a clean and well-organized work area.
  • Keep current on latest technologies and software tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions without supervision.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure/software/tool manuals.
  • Valid State Driver’s License required for company vehicle travel, as needed.
  • Passport and be willing to travel to the other Facilities, as needed.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS &/OR ABILITIES:

  • Thorough knowledge of Adobe Suites (i.e. Photoshop, and Illustrator).
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).
  • Adequate knowledge of Apple and Windows platforms and operating systems.
  • Knowledge of Color Management.
  • Knowledge of printing terminology and practices.
  • Knowledge of Printing RIP’s a plus but not required.
