Job description

Job Title: Assistant Floor Manager STATUS: EXEMPT/Full-Time

Reports to: Operations Manager DEPARTMENT: Indirect Labor-POD

POSITION SUMMARY:

As an Assistant Floor Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the seamless execution of our print production operations. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end production process, ensuring timely order fulfillment, and maintaining the company’s high-quality standards. Your ability to collaborate effectively with cross-departmental teams and streamline workflow will be essential to driving operational success. The candidate should be passionate about continuous improvement, on-time shipping, as well as inventory controls.

DUTIES/RESPONSABILITIES (Including but not limited to):

  • Assist the Operations Manager and Supervisors in planning and coordinating print production schedules.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service and Sales teams to ensure proper execution of special orders.
  • Monitor the production process, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and quality benchmarks.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement solutions to optimize efficiency.
  • Track and report on the project progress, providing updates to stakeholders as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining production equipment and ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production workflow and quality.
  • Complete new hire training in standard operating procedures, and re-training, as necessary.
  • Lead the way in fostering a teamwork environment. 
  • Manage and motivate warehouse crew to ensure daily and weekly shipping demands are met while keeping efficient, accurate, and productive processing.
  • Schedule all pickups from the Hebron facility and have accurate paperwork ready.
  • Schedule and coordinate daily workflow, monitoring the pace and flow of product from receiving through shipping.
  • Maintain inventory and the ordering of shipping supplies. This includes consolidating orders with production coordinators.
  • Track and record customer-related issues and challenges to develop a strategy to overcome any internal problems.
  • Help monitor shelf stock inventory along with the production supervisor to maintain adequate inventory to fill independent customers’ orders.
  • Oversee returned shipments. Ensure accurate information is given to the Sales Dept. for follow-up and timely resolution.
  • Conduct order selecting/packing audits as outlined.
  • Responsible for maintaining a neat and clean warehouse, free of hazardous obstacles.
  • Responsible for planning and assigning Bin locations to maximize the efficient selection of orders.
  • Facilitate inventory physical counts every quarter and provide the Director with results.
  • Keep an organized warehouse with complete knowledge of all staged product locations.
  • Participate in IIPP and Safety Prevention programs, including maintenance of the Safety Program and required documentation.
  • Provide directions to the safety committee to ensure a safe working environment.

Monitor and control business-related costs.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS &/OR ABILITIES:

  • Organized, motivated, flexible, and astute analytical person.
  • Four-year degree in logistics, materials management, operations, or related fields preferred.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to organize vast amounts of data; ability to multi-task several priorities and possess solid time management skills.
  • Familiar with and capable of working the entire MS Office suite; knowledge of automated or computerized system operation, including ERP or MRP systems.
  • The successful applicant will be an initiative-taker, comfortable in a fast-paced team environment; strong ability to manipulate data for efficient analysis; demonstrate initiative, be conscientious, and provide complete follow-through on all aspects of responsibility; have excellent time management and communication skills.
