Job description

The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management (OASAM) provides the infrastructure and support that enables the U.S. Department of Labor to perform its mission. OASAM provides leadership and support for information technology, human resources management, procurement, business operations, safety and health, space management, civil rights, emergency management, security, budget, and performance.

Qualifications:

For GS-14: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-13, in the Federal Service.
For GS-13: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-12, in the Federal Service.

Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.

To qualify for this GS-201-13, applicants must meet 3 of the following examples of specialized experience:

  • Experience assisting in development and delivery of executive development training content for executives and managers to support Department-wide executive learning objectives and capability-building efforts.
  • Experience supporting SES career development, talent management, and executive development processes by gathering data, drafting materials, and coordinating actions to ensure accurate documentation, consistent implementation, and smooth program operations.
  • Experience conducting routine training needs assessments, data reviews, and evaluation activities for executive development programs to identify capability gaps, summarize findings, and support program enhancement recommendations.
  • Experience coordinating communications, logistics, and materials for executive development activities for department-wide training events to ensure timely preparation, effective delivery, and successful participant engagement.


To qualify for this GS-201-14, applicants must meet all of the following examples of specialized experience:

  • Experience managing and leading Department-wide executive training and development programs for SES and senior-level staff to plan, design, deliver, and evaluate technical training that advances enterprise workforce capability.
  • Experience developing agency-wide policy, SOPs, and guidance for executive development to standardize practice and ensure compliance.
  • Experience conducting program analyses and leading subject matter expert (SME) workgroups on enterprise training content and evaluation tools to maintain technical accuracy, consistency, and continuous improvement of executive development offerings.
Education:

There is no substitute of education for specialized experience to qualify for this position.
