A day in the life…
 
Wondering what a day in the life of Executive Health Coordinator at The Iowa Clinic might look like?
  • Facilitates the experiential components of the Executive Physical Program, including:
  • Tracks and utilizes executive information (not related to clinical) when interacting with executives
  • Collects clinical results and composes end report binders
  • Provides follow up and schedules follow up physician appointments
  • Conducts pre-visit consultation
  • Provides navigation and accommodation assistance
  • Coordinates a healthy breakfast and lunch
  • Lead executives to and from appointments during their executive physical.
  • Delivers patient education regarding all aspects of his/her care, including medication, tests, procedures, chronic condition specific information, review and explanation of patient tests, diagnoses, signs/symptoms, expectations, complications, outcomes, medication actions/reactions, etc.
  • Initiates telephone calls to patients to gather information, arranges exam dates, conducts pre-visit consultations, and provide follow-up. Initiates calls to clerical workers to schedule appointments while managing the program’s itinerary parameters. Initiates calls to physicians to communicate patient information.
  • Makes complex decisions when receiving telephone calls or emails from patients, clerical staff and clinical staff responding to inquiries as appropriate or seeks assistance from physicians to assure proper information is given.
  • Assist with medical record completion and accuracy. Collects and loads patient’s insurance information.
  • Arrives to work at 6:30 a.m. on days of executive physicals.,
  • Promotes a positive, professional image of The Iowa Clinic both internally and externally.  Promotes positive interpersonal relations.

Education
  • Minimum health certification and/or degree. Bachelor’s degree in health science related field preferred
Qualifications
  • Two years of clinical experience preferred.
  • Experience in a case management role preferred.  
Preferred Licenses
  • State of Iowa Nursing License or Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Dietitian or Health Science Related certifications.
