Job Summary

MacLean-Fogg is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic at our Plymouth, Michigan manufacturing facility. In this role, you will troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment while supporting equipment reliability, safety, and manufacturing performance. You will also provide guidance and mentoring to team members as needed.

  • Location: Plymouth, MI

  • Work Arrangement: On-site

  • Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-10:30 PM

  • Pay: $25-$35/hour

  • Employment Type: Full-time / Hourly

What You'll Do as a Maintenance Mechanic
  • Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring equipment, and testing instruments to repair and maintain manufacturing machinery.

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance ranging from basic service to more complex equipment repairs.

  • Diagnose equipment breakdowns, troubleshoot mechanical problems, and complete repairs to restore reliable operation.

  • Perform maintenance work using diagrams, blueprints, sketches, operating manuals, and manufacturer specifications.

  • Address complex mechanical issues and escalate problems requiring additional technical support when appropriate.

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members as needed.

  • Follow applicable safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout requirements.

What You'll BringRequired Qualifications
  • High school education.

  • Typically 5+ years of relevant maintenance experience.

  • Comprehensive working knowledge of mechanical systems, including electrical, hydraulic, and fluid dynamics applications.

  • Proficiency in equipment monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.

  • Working knowledge of hand tools, calibration, numerical control, and Lockout/Tagout practices.

  • Ability to work independently and complete assigned work with limited supervision.

  • Ability to interpret work instructions accurately and collaborate effectively with others.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Powered Industrial Equipment Certification.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Employees in this role regularly work around manufacturing equipment and in noisy environments. The position requires:

  • Repeated lifting of up to 50 pounds.

  • Standing for extended periods.

  • Pushing and pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Frequent bending and stooping.

  • Manual dexterity to handle small objects.

  • Working in confined spaces.

  • Working from elevated platforms.
