The Sports Marketing Director leads sports marketing strategy and execution across the region, creating opportunities for consumers to connect with the Red Bull brand through athletes, events, gaming, and other passion points. This role is responsible for bringing national and global marketing priorities to life at the regional and local levels, ensuring initiatives resonate with communities while strengthening brand relevance and engagement.

The Director oversees a team of Senior Sports Marketing Managers who lead Athlete Marketing, Event Marketing, Gaming, and related programs across the region. By providing clear direction, fostering collaboration, and supporting team development, they enable their teams to deliver impactful experiences and partnerships that reflect the spirit of Red Bull.

Working closely with regional teams and partners in Santa Monica, the Director ensures alignment across strategies, programs, and key initiatives. This leader is focused on developing innovative ideas, elevating execution, and creating memorable experiences that help Red Bull remain a leader in sports and culture.

Job Description

ATHLETES, PLAYERS, CREATORS. OPINION LEADERS

Establish a rich network in regional sports scenes to maintain awareness of latest sports trends and scenes

Identify locally relevant athletes' stories and help create opportunities to amplify their reach within the region and nationally

With Athlete Marketing Managers, the National Athlete Marketing team, and the Gaming Managers and National Gaming Player team identify, develop and build relationships with local athlete and player talent

EVENT INITIATIVES & PROJECTS

Responsible for creation and delivery of the annual Region Sports Marketing Business Plan, adapting strategy to local direction and execution

Lead the project management and execution of local Red Bull Sports Marketing events

Use knowledge of local sports scenes and sports landscape to inform development of new event concepts, driving innovation

Oversee regional Sports Marketing resources to maximize the impact of local events

Support Athlete, Gaming and Event Marketing Managers with accomplishing athlete projects and sport events

GAMING

Manage the Gaming Manager in alignment with National Gaming team colleagues to identify opportunities in the region to reach the gaming consumer and bring the brand to life through gaming events, players, and the community to reach new consumers across the wide work of gaming.

Build a network in the gaming communities to build relevance and frequency of touchpoints with the gamer following national strategies.

Establish a network of Gaming partners to establish new avenues to activate the Brand

COLLABORATION & DISCOVERY

Lead and partner with Field Marketing, Event Logistics, Gaming, Athlete Marketing Managers, and the whole marketing mix to ensure quality planning all Sports Marketing activities in the region

Identify relevant branded and non-branded sports content and stories for our owned and shared media channels

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

Find and hire the right people to lead regional Sports Marketing projects

Manage direct reports towards annual regional goals

Promote a culture by focusing on individual, strengths-based development

Identify and train employees for succession opportunities

Provide direct and productive feedback to help maintain quality performance

Create a culture that rewards effort and execution following Red Bull's values

Qualifications
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in marketing and management with a focus on sports, athletes, and consumers
  • Strong planning and project management competencies, including budget management skills
  • An understanding of traditional and non-traditional brand marketing strategies
  • A history of thoughtful execution of creative ideas
  • Experience with identifying different sports trends and scenes on a regional and national level
  • Large budget management experience
  • Knowledge of marketing communications and storytelling with an emphasis on content
  • Highly motivated self-starter, with high standards of work performance
Additional Information

This position is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or individuals who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a valid visa.
The base salary range for this position is $149,440 - 224,160 + cash incentives. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
