Job description

CNC Machinist Technician (Lathe) – Temp-to-Hire

Location: Fort Worth, TX 
Shift: 2nd Shift | 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM (Mon–Fri)


Position Overview

The CNC Machinist Technician will set up and operate CNC lathes (mill experience a plus) to produce precision aerospace components. This role requires strong experience with close-tolerance machining, blueprint reading, program editing, and working with aerospace materials. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with Parker Hannifin’s Stratoflex division.


Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, adjust, and operate CNC lathes (and mills as needed) to machine aerospace parts to exact tolerances.

  • Run multiple machines simultaneously while maintaining quality and efficiency.

  • Edit and prove out CNC programs, including creating programs using I.G.F. software.

  • Interpret blueprints, GD&T, engineering specifications, and work instructions.

  • Troubleshoot machining issues, recommend process improvements, and collaborate with engineering.

  • Perform complex setups, including multi-station workholding and custom fixturing.

  • Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, comparators, and CMM equipment.

  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform basic preventative maintenance.

  • Apply SPC principles and support lean manufacturing initiatives.

  • Train and mentor junior machinists as needed.


Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing.

  • Strong experience operating CNC lathes (Okuma, Mazak, Haas, etc.).

  • Ability to set up and run at least five CNC machine types.

  • Ability to interpret aerospace blueprints and GD&T.

  • Experience machining materials such as titanium, Inconel, and aluminum.

  • Working knowledge of advanced shop math, including trigonometry.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a team environment.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.


Preferred Experience
  • Mill machining experience

  • AS9100 / NADCAP environment experience

  • CNC machining certifications (NIMS, trade school, etc.)

  • CMM operation experience

  • Lean/continuous improvement involvement
