Job description

CNC Programmer/Machinist
Summary
HMC is seeking a CNC Programmer/Machinist to program, set up, operate, and maintain CNC and manual machine tools to manufacture precision gears and components. This position is responsible for developing efficient machining programs, producing high quality parts, troubleshooting machining issues, and supporting continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
  • Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and other machine tools.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T.
  • Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs for quality and efficiency.
  • Select tooling, establish speeds and feed, and verify machine setups.
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality and dimensional requirements.
  • Troubleshoot machine and programming issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain tooling and measuring equipment.
  • Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
  • Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to meet customer requirements.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with training as experience allows.

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks, including bending, reaching, and lifting

Work Environment
Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, moderate to high noise levels, temperature fluctuations, and airborne particles.
