Job description

Summary: The Shop Technician follows plans and cut sheets to create metal parts through operating the shear and brake and/or assembling ACM(Aluminum Composite Material) panelsaccording to company protocols,quality standards, and packagefor shipment.

The Shop Technician Essential Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Set up and operatecompany equipment, machines, and tools in a safe manner.

Read cut sheets and verify material, measurement, and part type.

Construct templates or mock-ups as needed.

Program sheet metal brake with correct measurements, angles and color side following company procedures.

Double check design specifications and double-check measurements before cutting work.

Operate shear and brake in a safe manner.

Adjust shear according to measurements of verified stretch out.

Stack, label, and package parts and stage in the appropriate racking for pick up.

PrepareACM panels forconstruction by attaching extruded aluminum clips to the panels.

Use applicable equipment and machinery to cut extruded aluminum clips to size.

Maintain consistency and superior quality standard by regularly checking panels for damage or mistakes and take action to fix and notify a manager.

Accurately read and followthe detail sheet, ensuring all tasks are marked as complete.

Perform regular maintenance on equipment and tools, report issues for repairs.

Inspect and repair small engine, power, and hand tools and test for quality, as needed.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area by putting away tools and equipment at the end of the day,sweepdebris, correctlydisposeofand store chemicals properly; notify a manager of any potential issues.

Operate a forklift, if needed. (Maintain proper certification as required.)

Cut accessory parts,asneeded.

Ensure quality control through checks and balances and adhering to industry and company standards.

The Shop Technician Non-Essential Responsibilities include the following.

Identifies unsafe behavior or potentially hazardous working conditions and provides continuous training and coaching to others on Kodiak safety standards.

Companyapproved drivers operating a stake bed or other commercial vehicles (gross weight of 10,001 lbs or more), must follow all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including stopping at commercial weigh stations, ensuring vehicle is equipped with appropriate placards or placard displays, first aid kit and road flares.

Company approved drivers driving on behalf of the company must follow all state and federal vehicle and safety laws and regulations.

Education and/or Experience: High school education; or up to one-month related experience or training in similar field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
