Job description

General Shop Worker

Starting Pay: $20+ per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Full-time, 1st shift — 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
(Some overtime depending on workload; typically 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM)

Position Overview

A growing manufacturing company is seeking a General Shop Worker with strong mechanical aptitude and solid math skills. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and eager to work in a hands-on shop environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Load and unload trucks; store incoming steel materials using an overhead crane
  • Wash, clean, and prep steel tubing and fabricated products
  • Caulk, bondo, grind, and polish metal using hand and power tools
  • Cut metal materials to size using various cutting machines (must read a tape measure to 1/16")
  • Perform general shop housekeeping (sweeping, trash removal, etc.)
  • Assist with basic building and grounds maintenance (e.g., grass cutting, outdoor tasks)
  • Occasionally assist installation crews as a helper (outdoor work as needed)
  • Operate forklifts and cranes safely (experience preferred)

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical skills and comfort with hand/power tools
  • Good math ability, including fractions and decimals
  • Excellent attendance and reliability
