Job description

NW Industrial Staffing is seeking a **Manual Machinist **for a machine shop in Cottage Grove that manufactures and repairs machinery and equipment for the timber and milling industries. This is an evaluation for a hiring opportunity for a machinist who shares the same high standards and performance expectations as the company.

What we are seeking:

  • 1+ year of manual lathe experience

  • 1+ year of manual mill experience

  • Previous experience using surface grinders, drill presses, and dynamic balancers.

  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and symbols

  • Great machine shop math and measurement skills with the ability to read calipers, micrometers, and gauge blocks.

  • Previous experience in repairing parts and components, as well as troubleshooting errors.

  • Proficient in using inspection tools and techniques to produce quality work while holding tolerances to less than .001 of an inch.

  • Able to lift 30 lbs. on a semi-constant basis.

  • Can stand, stoop, bend, push, and pull for an 8-hour shift.

  • A great safety record.

  • The ability to communicate in writing and verbally.

  • Great work ethic, attitude, and attendance.

  • MUST HAVE OWN SET OF MACHINIST TOOLS

JOB DETAILS:

  • Location: Cottage Grove, OR
  • Shift: Days
  • Schedule: Monday – Thursday with an occasional Friday
  • Hours: 6 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Pay: $28/h to $32/h (DOE)
