With a full-service machine shop, the company offers comprehensive services, including pump and gear reducer repair, laser alignment, vibration analysis, and on-site preventative maintenance. Atlas Electric Motor Service is a proud member of the Electric Apparatus Service Association and has earned an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. We serve a wide range of industries, such as mining, paper, plastics, food, municipalities, and automotive manufacturing, and maintain an inventory of motors up to 200HP for immediate delivery. Our experienced team brings over 125 years of combined electric motor expertise to every project.

Role Description

This is a full-time role for an experienced Electric Motor Mechanic based on-site at our Walton, KY location in the Cincinnati Metropolitan Area. The Electric Motor Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electric motors, including both AC and DC motors, up to 500HP. Daily tasks will include disassembling equipment, identifying issues, performing repairs, reassembling units, and testing for functionality. The role also involves occasional interaction with customers to provide updates or clarify repair needs and supporting on-site maintenance as required.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Vehicle Maintenance, Motor Vehicle systems, and Maintenance & Repair
  • Proficiency in Steering mechanisms and related components
  • Effective Customer Service skills to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Hands-on experience with electric motor repair, diagnostics, and maintenance, including AC and DC motors up to 500HP
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an on-site setting
  • Prior experience in a similar role or related field is required
  • Basic understanding of precision tools and diagnostic equipment
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant technical training or certification is a plus
  • Familiarity with laser alignment and vibration analysis is an advantage
