Summary
This position manages assigned projects to ensure the proper execution of schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables from receipt of order through final acceptance by customers
Essential Functions
  • Ensure successful execution of all assigned projects, exceeding targets for quality, on-time performance, and cost.
  • Responsible for establishing required communication, as the main point of contact with the customer, throughout the life of all assigned projects.
  • Help to define, clearly understand, and manage to the boundaries of the sold project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Plan, create, maintain, and properly communicate detailed project schedules and follow-up on actual performance against estimate.
  • Understand, track, and effectively communicate financial data, payment milestones, and terms and conditions related to assigned projects.
  • Lead and actively participate in cross functional project reviews as necessary to identify problems related to budget, schedule, and quality, escalate as required, and create pro-active solutions to troubled projects.
  • Responsible for working with Quotation Engineering and other department managers to help define and understand task assignments and schedules as related to assigned projects.
  • Ensures that job schedules are adhered to and achieved by all necessary personnel.
  • Tracks and reviews performance and attainment of goals, budget and cost adherence, as well as conformance to company policy and guidelines.
  • May be required to visit specific locations at request of the customer or Sales force.
  • Produce required documentation, such as purchase requisitions or field service requests.
  • Maintain all internal documentation and reports, as assigned by management.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment in our Florence, KY or Brighton, MI facility. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines which create low-moderate noise.

Expected Hours of Work
This is a salaried, exempt level, full-time position with standard working days/hours of Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm with additional time as necessary to complete required tasks. Actual working hours may vary based on needs of customers. Must be willing to work long hours as dictated by the situation. This will periodically include evenings and weekends.
Travel
Travel is moderate, roughly 20%, and is primarily local and during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. Travel to Germany or other international locations possible for training/conferences.
Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or similar field and 2-4 years' related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude with creative ability to generate design solutions for various machine components.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Experience working with highly technical, engineered capital equipment projects.
