Job description

Job Title: CNC Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

This role focuses on performing preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machine tools and a wide range of manufacturing equipment. You will use your mechanical, electrical, and fabrication skills to keep production machinery operating safely and efficiently, support facility improvements, and collaborate with contractors on repair and overhaul projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on CNC machine tools, spinning lathes, ovens, overhead cranes, and various manufacturing equipment to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
  • Inspect machinery and mechanical equipment regularly and complete preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulic systems, and production machines.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and electrical issues on production equipment, identifying root causes and implementing effective repairs.
  • Disassemble machinery to remove defective parts, replace components, and reassemble equipment, followed by readjustments to restore proper operation.
  • Fabricate and machine parts as needed to repair, modify, or upgrade machine tools, equipment, or facility systems.
  • Perform welding tasks to support repairs, upgrades, and improvements to machinery and facility structures when required.
  • Read and interpret diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications to guide maintenance and repair activities.
  • Assist outside contractors during overhauls, major repairs, facility improvements, and special projects, ensuring work aligns with operational and safety requirements.
  • Support general shop activities such as grinding, washing, and machine operation as needed to maintain smooth production flow.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and follow all safety procedures while working with machinery, tools, and equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of CNC maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, including the ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic systems on production machinery.
  • In-depth understanding of pneumatics and pneumatic tools, with the ability to maintain and troubleshoot these systems.
  • Solid knowledge of lubrication principles and practices for industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Working knowledge of electricity as it applies to machine tools and production equipment, including basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to fabricate and machine parts using appropriate tools and equipment to support repairs and upgrades.
  • Proficiency in welding for repair and modification of machine tools, equipment, and facility structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery, including full teardown, replacement of defective parts, reassembly, and readjustment.
  • Ability to read and follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.
  • Experience performing general shop and production support tasks such as grinding, washing, machine operation, and maintenance work.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
