About Mach Industries
Founded in 2022, Mach Industries is a rapidly growing defense technology company focused on developing next-generation autonomous defense platforms. At the core of our mission is the commitment to delivering scalable, decentralized defense systems that enhance the strategic capabilities of the United States and its allies. With a workforce of approximately 220 employees, we operate with startup agility and ambition.
Our vision is to redefine the future of warfare through cutting-edge manufacturing, innovation at speed, and unwavering focus on national security. We are dedicated to solving the next generation of warfare with lethal systems that deter kinetic conflict and protect global security.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced CNC Machine Shop Supervisor to lead daily operations in our machine shop supporting the production of complex precision components for turbine engines and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). This role is responsible for supervising machinists and operators, driving safety, quality, and schedule performance, and ensuring parts are delivered on time and to specification.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who brings strong CNC machining knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to keep production moving in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day operations in our expanding CNC machine shop, including staffing, work assignments, and production prioritization
  • Supervise CNC programmers/machinists, setup technicians, and machine operators to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution
  • Drive performance across safety, quality, output, delivery, and cost
  • Ensure work is performed to current drawings, setup sheets, and controlled documentation
  • Oversee setups, first-piece verification, in-process checks, tool offsets, and changeovers
  • Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, machine performance, workholding, dimensional variation, and downtime
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production Leadership to resolve issues and maintain schedule
  • Monitor shop performance metrics including utilization, scrap, rework, downtime, and on-time completion
  • Maintain readiness of machines, tooling, fixtures, gauges, and materials needed to support production
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and skills development for machine shop personnel while enforcing accountability and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience in a production environment
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in a machine shop or manufacturing setting
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining operations, setups, tooling, workholding, and shop workflow
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and process documentation
  • Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, and bore gauges
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced production environment with shifting priorities
  • Ability to work extended hours or alternate shifts as needed to support production schedules

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or UAS/drone manufacturing
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, traceability, and configuration control requirements
  • Experience with multi-axis CNC mills, lathes, and secondary machining operations
  • Experience with CAM programming and manufacturing software such as ESPRIT EDGE and Mastercam
  • Experience with Siemens and FANUC controls
  • Experience collaborating with CNC programmers and manufacturing engineers to optimize machining strategy, tooling, and process flow
  • Experience machining aerospace materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and inconel
