Machine Shop Support at TSI

The primary purpose of the Machine Shop Support position is to cut raw materials for the different work centers in the shop. This position will also be responsible for maintaining a well-stocked and organized raw material area.

 

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with TSI, you will be responsible for:

  • Review daily cut-off schedule and identify jobs requiring material preparation.
  • Select and stage the correct material according to pick lists and job requirements.
  • Use computer systems to verify material type, quantity, and cut lengths, and accurately record material usage.
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and accuracy of material storage areas.
  • Perform basic CNC/manual machine part change duties as needed to support production requirements and help the Machine Shop achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Assist with material handling, shop housekeeping, and general production support activities as required.
  • Receiving and stocking raw materials.
  • Cycle counting and inventory accuracy.
  • Following safety, quality, and 5S requirements.
  • Forklift or material-moving equipment operation (if applicable).
  • Complete other duties, assignments, and special projects as assigned.

 

What Do You Need?
Required

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required. Some post High School vocational training is desired.

Experience

  • Experience working in a Machine Shop environment preferred.
  • Familiar with metal cutting tools and deburring equipment.
  • Familiar with basic inspection equipment and measuring techniques to include, calipers, tape measure, squares, etc.

Desired
Knowledge

  • Requires a strong mechanical aptitude in order to operate machines in the shop such as a cut off saw, Mills, and Lathes with training.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Basic Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and measurement.
  • Ability to look up information on a computer.
  • Willing and able to learn new things and to be cross trained on new pieces of equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean/safe environment for self and shop employees.

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive market salary from $53,040 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities may be available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
