Job Title: Machine Maintenance Mechanic/Apprentice

1st shift - $22-$28

Job Description

This role focuses on performing year-round preventive and predictive maintenance on a high volume of machines in a machine shop environment. You will work as part of a two-person team to keep equipment running reliably by cleaning, refilling fluids, performing general upkeep, and assisting with repairs on machine tools, accessory equipment, and HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform predictive maintenance on machines to identify and address potential issues before they cause downtime.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machines on a full-time, year-round schedule to ensure consistent and reliable operation.
  • Work as part of a two-person team to complete scheduled maintenance tasks efficiently across a large number of machines.
  • Clean machines and related equipment thoroughly as part of regular maintenance routines.
  • Refill and monitor fluids and lubricants in machines according to maintenance schedules and specifications.
  • Repair machine tools and accessory equipment under the guidance of established procedures.
  • Assist a Machine Maintenance II technician with more complex repairs and maintenance activities as needed.
  • Perform general maintenance on HVAC systems to support a comfortable and safe work environment.
  • Follow safety procedures and use proper tools and equipment while working on machines, HVAC, and building systems.
  • Adhere to maintenance schedules, document work performed, and communicate equipment issues or concerns to the appropriate personnel.

Essential Skills

  • Experience performing preventive maintenance on machines in an industrial or machine shop setting.
  • Experience performing predictive maintenance activities such as inspections and basic diagnostics on equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with building maintenance tasks, including working around mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and move up to 30 pounds, and rarely lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for 100% of the shift while performing maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions such as bending, twisting, walking, and crouching throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work safely at elevated heights when required.
  • Ability to climb ladders to access equipment and building systems.
  • Ability to continuously operate tools and equipment for a minimum of 3 hours at a time.
  • Comfort working with CNC machines and other machine tools in a production environment.

You will use standard maintenance tools and equipment and follow safety procedures appropriate for a production and maintenance environment.
