SummaryThe Maintenance Specialist performs skilled maintenance and troubleshooting for facility systems, production equipment, and fixtures. This role builds on Specialist I responsibilities with an emphasis on diagnosing problems, implementing solutions, and collaborating across departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Diagnose, repair, or replace mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components on machinery and production fixtures.
- Perform preventative maintenance on machines, tools, HVAC, and air compressor systems.
- Assist in the design, improvement, or modification of fixtures, machines, and tools in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering.
- Troubleshoot lighting, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems to minimize downtime.
- Start up and shut down equipment according to OSHA and company safety procedures.
- Inspect, test, and document emergency systems (e.g., alarms, extinguishers, sprinklers).
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for building maintenance, system upgrades, and safety checks.
- Operate a variety of tools (e.g., soldering irons, torque wrenches, crimpers) for installation and repair.
- Monitor shop inventory and ensure timely restocking of consumables.
- Respond to after-hours maintenance needs and emergencies as required.
- Uphold Positronic’s standards of integrity, quality, and operational excellence.
- Identify hazards in the workplace and report them to management and/or the safety coordinator.
- Collaborate with the EHS department to meet local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including OSHA, NFPA, DNR, EPA, and Amphenol sustainability practices.
- Work with the Quality department to ensure compliance with AS9100 certification standards.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
RequirementsEducation and Experience- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 to 3 months of relevant experience or training.
- Prior experience with machinery/fixture maintenance and preventive systems preferred.
Physical- Lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Sit, stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach overhead regularly.
- Navigate facility areas including ladders or tight spaces as needed.
Working ConditionsWork is performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and fumes. Some irregular hours may be required.
