EHS Managers often encounter challenges such as varying levels of safety awareness among departments, resistance to change, and ensuring consistent compliance with regulations. What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as an EHS Manager, you need a solid understanding of environmental regulations, occupational health and safety standards, and risk management, often supported by a degree in environmental science, safety management, or a related field. Familiarity with compliance software, incident reporting systems, and certifications like CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or NEBOSH is typically required. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills help drive safety culture and ensure effective training and policy implementation. These skills and qualifications are essential to protect employee well-being, maintain regulatory compliance, and minimize organizational risk.
