JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Distinguish between types of material - Properly mix or sort by colour or other properties
  • Load and unload raw material bins/hoppers (i.e. maintain raw material levels to ensure line operation)
  • Report any deficiencies in systems, facilities, machinery, equipment and/or tools immediately to your supervisor.
  • Record and/or report product or equipment damage/nonconformities to your supervisor as required.
  • Comply with Safety and Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
  • Participate and contribute to production efficiency.
  • Construct packaging, prepare and apply label to package, package product as per specification
  • Keep work area clean, dispose of recycling and waste in proper bins
  • Participate in the PVC Recovery program, ensure recycling of scrap and other materials
  • Place raw material in proper storage location
  • Place finished goods in proper storage location
  • Inspect product for squareness/ straightness/proper surface finish
  • Compare product to sample (colour)
  • Record results on paper or electronic format
  • Use caliper/micrometer/ measuring tape or other tools to ensure product meets specifications
  • Compare product to production drawings
  • Perform "Go" "No-go" Gauges/Assembly Parts tests
  • Check guarding, oi/water levels, check/change filters
  • Maintain the machine during a "blip"
  • Maintain the machine during "more than a blip"

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilograms.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts
