Job description

Value Tool & Engineering (VTE) is a premium ISO 9001:2015 certified and AS9100 tooling and parts supplier to the aerospace and defense industries. We are currently seeking a skilled CNC Haas Machinist. Primary responsibilities are to set-up and operate 3-axis CNC Mill in a production environment. Secondary responsibilities include supporting the various production operations.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
• Produce quality machined aerospace parts by setting up, and final machining metal & plastic components.
• Select and change cutting tools & inserts for machining programs given part materials, part geometry, and process constraints along with calculating the appropriate cutting speeds, feeds, and depths of cut
• Make machine offsets and adjustments as necessary to maintain size and surface finish
• Interpret part drawings and specifications including GD&T callouts
• Use calipers, micrometers & hand tools to verify dimensional accuracy by measuring first-run parts, in-process dimensions & final inspections
• Stay current and proficient with all applicable Quality Processes, Procedures & Work Instructions associated with assigned work
• Document actions and maintain accurate operation & inspection data for production, customer & quality records
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements following work instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions & calling for repairs
Requirements
• 3+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC machines
• 3+ years of experience using micrometers, calipers, gages & hand tools (VMM and CMM experience is a plus)
• 3+ years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably that makes parts or product for the aerospace industry.
• Ability to read and understand drawings, schematics, blue prints, work instructions and use standard machine shop tools.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and follow established Quality Procedures and Work Instructions (AS9100 or ISO 9001 experience preferred)
• Must have good communication skills in English (both verbal & written)
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently on assignments with minimal oversight or direction
• Ability to interact effectively with management and other team members
• Ability to work overtime as required
• High school diploma or equivalent
