Job description

This position is primarily responsible for assisting the forklift operator with loading/unloading product onto or from trucks and moving pipe within the yard.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ability to follow both verbal and hand signal instructions to identify pipe to be moved
  • Verifies heat numbers, quantity, and complete chocking of pipe
  • Installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit
  • Painting, stenciling, sandblasting, coating pipes
  • Observe all safety precautions and wear appropriate PPE at all times
  • Cross-train on alternate assignments and perform duties in other work areas as needed
  • Maintain Housekeeping in assigned work area
  • Any other duties as requested by respective supervisor and/or manager

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours and weekends (normal schedule: 50 hrs)
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
  • Stable work history, preferably in an industrial environment
  • Reliable transportation
  • Committed to working safely at all times including a commitment to the policies and procedures of the operation
  • Positive attitude; good team player

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to lift and stack objects up to 50 lbs. occasionally and frequently exert 10 to 20 lbs. of force to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects
  • Work involves long periods of standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching; may also include climbing ladders and staircases
  • Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions - heat, cold, rain
