Job description

Position Summary: We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and positive individual to join our team.
You must have recent machine operation experience and be skilled in troubleshooting machines. The Machine Operator will set up and operate machines. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processes, formulations, waste control, equipment support, and all other functions related to the manufacture of safety products for the hearing protection industry. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES for the Machine Operator include the following:
  • Set up and operate manufacturing equipment to meet product specifications and production goals.
  • Examine, measure, and weigh materials/products to verify conformance to standards, using measuring devices.
  • Monitor the machine operations and observe lights and gauges in order to detect malfunctions.
  • Review procedures, work instructions, and work orders to determine materials, settings, and adjustments needed for the manufacture and/or packaging of hearing protection products.
  • Record and maintain production data such as meter readings, quantities, types, and dimensions of materials used, and products produced.
  • Shut down processes, isolate products, and notify management in the event the product fails to meet standards.
  • Ensure that materials and finished products are moved between storage and work areas using a hand truck or forklift.
  • Be able to be flexible in work assignments and scheduling as needed.

Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE and OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES for the Machine Operator:
  • Simple Math skills.
  • Ability to read and understand procedures, work instructions, and product specifications.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Must be able to work in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work independently under his/her own initiative.
  • High school diploma or GED, 2-4 years' experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing environment.
  • The ability to communicate with engineering and management is a must.
  • PC, calculator, and scale familiarity.
  • MS Windows Experience.
