Associate 2: Splitter - Hudson Plant
JOB CLASSIFICATION
Machine Operator
POSITION REPORTS TO:
Hudson Operations Manager
POSITION OVERVIEW
Operates Splitter, assuring the production of the highest quality fabric.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Splitter:
  • Load Roll onto batching roller using overhead hoist system.
  • Connect seams from one roll to next with the aid of glue tape and heating iron.
  • Place production order on top and bottom roll of fabric post-split.
  • Set Splitter jaws to correct setting based on style being run.
  • Check tuft heights left, center and right to verify correct jaw setting.

(Repat tuft height check halfway through roll)
  • Identified Knit Machine or Splitter damage must be marked with orange flag within the split roll. Supervisor notified.
  • Use automated doffing device to doff split roll onto carts.
  • Completer daily production sheet.
  • Maintains a clean work area and observes all safety rules and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as required or directed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Legally authorized to work in the US.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to operate overhead hoist.
  • Basic reading/writing skills.
  • Basic math skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Textile knitting experience.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Excellent hand/eye coordination.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptability - adapts to changes in the work environment.
  • Attention to detail - thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing tasks ensuring all aspects are reviewed.
  • Ability to identify and classify defects.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FREQUENCY, AMOUNT, OR DESCRIPTION
1. Standing: Ability to stand while working 95% of day
2. Sitting: Ability to sit down 10% of day
3. Moving: Ability to move throughout plant: 5% of day
4. Lifting: Ability to lift to 25 lbs. 20% of day
5. Ascending/Descending: Ability to walk upstairs, climb to top of range 40% of day
6. Push/Pull/Reach: Ability to push/pull fabric rolls on A-frames(wheels) (approx.1500lbs) 5% of day
7. Bending: Ability to pick up objects from the floor 25% of day
8. Visual Acuity: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties,
including reading information from printed sources and

9. Cognitive: Alert. Able to make decisions, reason, and understand

WORK ENVIRONMENT/SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION
This job operates in a manufacturing facility. This position is a safety-sensitive position and continually works around moving mechanical parts and powered industrial vehicles.
The noise level is loud. Temperatures is a controlled work environment with the average temperature year-round at 74 degrees
SHIFT/WORK HOURS
Shift schedule will depend on open positions at time of hire and will be communicated with new hire paperwork. Weekends and holidays are scheduled depending on business demands.
Second Shift: 2PM-10PM Monday-Friday
