Position Summary
Joseph's Bakery is seeking reliable and motivated Machine Operators to join our Production team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining production equipment to ensure efficient production while meeting our quality, food safety, and production standards.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment ideal for individuals who are mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to producing high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, calibrate, clean, and prepare production equipment for operation
  • Monitor and adjust machine settings to ensure efficient production and product quality
  • Feed raw materials and components into semi-automated production equipment
  • Inspect products using measuring tools and visual inspections to identify defects or machine-related issues
  • Perform routine machine checks to ensure equipment is operating properly
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues that do not require Maintenance or Engineering support
  • Communicate with upstream production employees to ensure consistent product flow
  • Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Sanitation, and Management teams to minimize downtime
  • Maintain accurate production records, including approved and defective products
  • Participate in ongoing training to improve technical knowledge and job skills
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work area
  • Follow all company policies and production procedures, including:
    • GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices)
    • HACCP
    • Food Safety standards
    • Employee Handbook policies
    • Additional company procedures as assigned
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Previous manufacturing or machine operating experience preferred, but not required
  • Basic math skills required
  • Ability to read, write, and follow basic instructions and production processes
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Willingness to cross-train in other production areas
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality required

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
  • Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive movements
  • Ability to work in varying production temperatures ranging from approximately 43°F to 110°F

  • This is a full-time onsite position located in Lawrence, MA. Openings are currently available on 2nd Shift and 3rd Shift.
