Service Technician

Reports to Shop Supervisor, Assistant Manager, Store Manager

Shift: Varies

Position Summary:

Upholds the Core Values as determined by the management team. The primary responsibility for all positions with W.D. Bryant Ace Hardware is to Amaze Every Customer Every Time. Service technicians repair customer machines in a timely and efficient manner while keeping documentation about their statuses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work to repair customer machinery, including but not limited to mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, and miscellaneous lawn equipment.

• Identify any needed parts and either procure them from the store or ensure they are ordered promptly.

• Update documentation on the status of each machine being serviced to allow coworkers and customers to easily determine where a machine is in the process of being repaired.

• Maintain the service area: Keep it clean, organized, and fully stocked.

• Execute the daily operational, day-to-day goals and priorities assigned by store management displaying a “Speed is Life” attitude. Move with a sense of urgency while paying attention to the details.

• Provide the best possible experience for Every Customer, Every Time by being helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly.

• Assist Customers with simple complaints/concerns; get a manager involved with problems as needed.

• Use the Five Foot Rule – always greet and/or acknowledge all customers within five feet of you.

• Always be polite and attentive to customers. Make eye contact and smile. Do not avoid customers.

• Promote the Ace Rewards program to all customers and describe the Ace Helpful Promise.

• Maintain awareness of promotions and advertisements so you can tell customers about sales.

• Assist customers with large or heavy items as needed.

• Assist in the training and development of peers.

• Attend paid out-of-store training as required.
