SUMMARY
Setup, operate, or tend plastic forming equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Conducts movement of cured plastic from oven to forming department and from forming department to vinyl and/or crating departments.
  • Moves levers and presses pedals to drive forklift and control movement of lifting apparatus.
  • Study machining instructions, job orders, and blueprints to determine dimensional and finish specifications, sequences of operations, setups, and tooling requirements.
  • Use either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes.
  • Use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
  • Sand, maintain, and stack molds.
  • Lift work pieces onto worktables either manually or with hoists to lift and position work pieces.
  • Position and secure work pieces on tables, using bolts, jigs, clamps, shims, or other holding devices.
  • Adjust machine components to regulate speeds, pressures, and temperatures, and amounts, dimensions, and flow of materials or ingredients.
  • Monitor machine operations and observe lights and gauges to detect malfunctions.
  • Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
