Job Description

Title: CNC Machine Operator (Computer Numerical Control)

"This position includes a sign-on bonus of $3K".

Key Accountabilities:

1. Operate Computer Numerical Control (CNC) HELLER machining centers with Siemens 840 D Controllers according to instructions, routings, control plans, production requirements, plans and diagrams.

2. Study machining instructions, routings, control plans, job orders, and blueprints to determine dimensional and finish specifications, sequences of operations, complex machine setups, and tooling requirements.

3. Select the appropriate tools, and materials to be used in preparation of cubic engine components.

4. Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations.

5. Check precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, fixed and telescoping gauges, templates and fixtures, and adjust according to quality control plans.

6. Perform fine-tuning of tools/equipment through sample cuts and optimize the CNC program in regard to tool durability, preventing the collision of tools/equipment, program sequencing Observe machines operation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools

or excessive vibration and adjust machines to compensate for problems.

7. Stop machines to remove finished work pieces, or to change tooling, setup, or work piece placement, according to required machining sequences.

8. Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.

9. Maintain industrial machines within the scope of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) specifications, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.

10. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas Identify and reduce non-value-added work.

11. Perform special projects as may be required and maintain on the job flexibility by providing support in other production related areas.

12. Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct.

Basic Requirements:

1. 2 years experience as a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) operator/or 2 years experience in a mechanical, maintenance or machining trade school or equivalent Associate's Degree; or 3 years of experience in a heavy-duty CNC machining environment.

2. "Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time."

Preferred:

1. Intermediate knowledge of CNC-controls (preferred SIEMENS 840 D Controllers) machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

2. Intermediate knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics and their applications.

3. Basic ability to interpret Statistical Process Control (SPC) and operate scanning devices for system communications.

4. Basic knowledge of manufacturing and production processes, raw materials, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods (Quality Alerts, Second Checks, etc.).

5. Basic knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and the ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standards.

6. Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills where problems are complex.

7.Basic interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with other employees.

8.Basic ability to interpret blueprints, build documents, schematic drawings, layouts or other documents regarding engine assembly and testing.

9. Basic organizational, planning and follow-up skills and the ability to cope with stress.

10. Basic oral and written communication skills.

11. Basic reading, writing and math skills.

12. Ability to work any shift and overtime as required.

13. Basic PC knowledge and the ability to efficiently operate computer terminals, tools and devices.

14. Ability to work any shift and overtime as required.

15. Experience as a CNC milling operator.

16. Knowledge of SIEMENS 840 D Control System.

17. Ability to obtain appropriate hoists and power vehicle licenses (Flatbed, Hi-Lo, & Mule) when necessary.
