Job description

EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
Job Duties and Requirements
  • Operate lifting and hoisting equipment to move materials, tools, and machinery as directed by supervisory personnel.
  • Understand and follow hand signals used in directing the movement of materials, tools, and machinery.
  • Operate front end loaders and other types of earth moving equipment according to safe operating procedures.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair of various types of equipment.
  • Perform variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools such as attaching and removing hooks, clamps, and other types of hoisting equipment to loads of various materials and machinery.
  • Follow specific directions.
  • Reach for, handle, and manipulate objects.
  • Lift and carry objects of varying weight.
  • Perform work from scaffolding, ladders or other structures.
  • Perform work overhead, beneath structure, and from various other positions as required by working conditions.
  • May be required to be licensed to operate heavy construction equipment.
  • Recognize and respond to hazardous conditions or situations to avoid injuries.

Technical Skills
Demonstrate a working knowledge of commercial construction.
Possesses the ability to recognize problems and generate workable solutions for approval and follow through to resolution of problems.
Certificates, Licenses:
OSHA 10 is a plus but will be provided if candidate does not possess.
Any other applicable certifications such as fork lift, aerial lift, etc. are a plus.
