Machine Operator
Job Summary
Responsible for the setup, operation, monitoring, and maintenance of automated equipment and related systems. Ensures efficient production processes while maintaining quality standards, safety compliance, and accurate documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up automated equipment, including loading components, materials, and required fixtures
- Review production schedules, specifications, and work instructions prior to operation
- Perform equipment start-up and shutdown procedures following established guidelines
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain optimal operation
- Inspect product quality and ensure output meets required specifications
- Identify and resolve equipment or production issues; initiate rework or repairs as needed
- Record production data for inventory tracking and statistical process control
- Monitor shelf-life and proper usage of materials such as chemicals and components
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 6 months to several years of machine operation experience (depending on level)
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, diagrams, and production schedules
- Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and automated equipment

- Familiarity with data entry and basic computer systems
Work Environment
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts and moderate noise levels
- May involve repetitive motion and handling of small components
- Occasional exposure to chemicals and electrical equipment
- May require overtime or shift work, including evenings or weekends
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods
- Frequent handling of small parts and components
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Visual ability to inspect detailed work, including color differentiation and close focus
