Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operational
- Operate brake press equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and position parts according to work instructions.
- Organize completed parts by work order and routings.
- Perform basic bends and verify dimensions using precision measurement tools
- Adjust tooling and bend angles as needed to meet specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Transfer programs form server to equipment and download prints for inspections.
- Use of powered hand tools when required.
- Charging time accurately to work orders and maintaining paperwork accountability.
- Reporting daily production rates for parts and setup changes
Quality & Documentation
- Track and document the completion of parts and work orders.
- Reporting missing parts, rework needs, and downtime causes.
- Review and update documentation related to machine setups.
- Communicate with leadmen, programming, and engineering regarding part files and set up requirements.
Maintenance & Safety
- Perform basic machine preventative maintenance and area hygiene checks.
- Maintain clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to safety and environmental protocols.
Teamwork & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in team meetings focus on workflow improvement, safety, and daily production goals.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior operators (Level 1 – 2).
- Support cross-functional initiatives to reduce lead time and improve quality.
Perform any other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of basic math and measurement principles
- Familiarity with safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with crowning offset adjustments and component inspection.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to cross train in other machine operator roles.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts and overtime as needed.
Preferred:
- Experience with Ermaksen and/or Cincinnati brake press equipment.
- Knowledge of other fabrication equipment. ( e.g. shears, punch press, lasers.)
- Familiarity with coining and air bending techniques.

Basic understanding of 6S and Lean principles.
Minimum 1 year of hands-on machine operator experience preferred.
