Job description

Set Up A - Turning/Heat Treat - RLD

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:

  • Perform work in a systematic manner when possible to insure all steps are carried out in proper sequence by following standard operating production procedures and work instructions.
  • Determine causes of machine malfunction, and make adjustments or repairs in order for machine to process materials in accordance to specifications within a timely manner.
  • If unable to make repair, consult with Lead Setup and/or Maintenance and/or Section Leader in a timely manner.
  • Perform operational preventative maintenance as needed.
  • Check machine cycle time to insure production process is in accordance with process specifications on a daily basis.
  • Utilize dial indicators, chamfer gauges, calipers and other measuring devices to insure quality standards are met. If manufacturing process is causing quality issues, Machine Setup will stop production and consult with Section Leader and/or Area Manager immediately.
  • Perform routine inspections of parts to assist operators in meeting production schedules.
  • Operate and maintain adjustments of various machines as necessary to meet production scheduled and quality standard.
  • Record production results, quality checks, scrap, downtime and shortstops on a daily basis.
  • Review rejects; determine if scrap is reworkable. Be proficient in reworking on a daily basis.
  • Assist on changeovers as needed.
  • To direct machine operators on daily work assignments and accountable for the work performance of the line/department.
  • Responsible for all 5-S and general housekeeping daily. Perform major cleanup as needed.
  • Train others as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
