Position Overview
Join the Vehicle Shop team at Mt. Hood Meadows and help keep the mountain moving year-round. As a Vehicle Shop Mechanic, you'll play a critical role in maintaining and repairing the diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment that support resort operations-from snow removal equipment and utility vehicles to heavy machinery and other essential assets. Working both in the shop and out in the field, your expertise will help ensure our teams can safely and efficiently deliver exceptional experiences to guests in every season.
As a Vehicle Shop Mechanic, you will perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide variety of equipment while collaborating closely with fellow mechanics and teams across the resort. Whether recovering disabled equipment from the mountain, troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic systems, or preparing vehicles for changing seasonal demands, you'll contribute directly to the success of daily operations in a dynamic mountain environment.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in solving complex mechanical problems, and thrives in an active setting where no two days are the same. We're looking for a dependable team player with strong technical skills, a commitment to safety, and the adaptability to work in all weather conditions. This is a full-time, year-round, benefited position
Qualifications and Experience
  • Must be at least 19 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair a variety of vehicles and equipment.
  • Must provide basic hand tools required for the position.
  • Ability to perform work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays during the winter season.
  • Must be comfortable with the changing dynamics of a seasonal business.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • ASE certification.
  • Experience maintaining heavy equipment, diesel engines, or snow removal equipment.
  • Experience working in a fleet, construction, agricultural, or resort maintenance environment.
  • Familiarity with ski resort or mountain operations.

Compensation:
  • Wage: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
