The Mundy Companies, a leader in the industrial maintenance, services, and construction fields, is currently hiring for a position in the Baytown, Texas area:

BOILERMAKER
$34.00/HR

needs to be able help with other crafts, i.e., Scaffold Builder

Successful candidates will have continuous and current experience as a Boilermaker in a petrochemical, industrial, or manufacturing environment.
Essential Job Functions:
Performs maintenance and installs equipment related to various types of towers, heat exchangers, heaters, and plant piping to blueprint specifications, using power tools and hand tools.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read blueprints to determine locations and relationship of parts.
  • Drill and tap holes for installation of studs.
  • Tighten bolts to assemble frames, using power or hand wrenches.
  • Bolts or screw accessories, such as manholes, hand holes, fans, gauges, and valves to vessels.
  • Replaces defective parts, using power wrenches, prying bars, or hand tools.
  • May perform general piping work such as line breaking, installing blinds, gaskets, valves, couplings, and other fittings.
  • May install equipment internals, packings, catalysts, and desiccants in vessels.
  • May perform basic rigging if necessary, along with other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:
Work days spent mostly outdoors, may include extreme hot or cold weather conditions.  Physical demands may include climbing about machinery, climbing ladders, catwalks, and scaffolding, and medium carrying (exerting 20-50 pounds of force frequently).  May require working inside vessels in cramped and uncomfortable positions.  Must be able to wear respiratory protective equipment.
The successful candidate will maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness at all time.   This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a safe, efficient manner.  The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing is also required.  All qualified applicants must be craft certified or possess the ability to pass a craft test, as well as the ability to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen and other qualifications as required.
